We are Biblical, Confessional, and Evangelical.
We’re about:
- Scripture
- The Great Commission
- The Historic Reformed Faith
We emphasize exegetical, expository preaching, prayer, and the sacraments, desiring Gospel-centered worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and diversity.
Vision:
That for the glory of God, the Word of God, centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, would increasingly become the driving force of our lives, impacting our families, our communities, and the world.
That we might embody the truth that through the Gospel*, we are Accepted (1), Connected (2), and Sent (3).
* The Gospel: “Gospel” means good news. This news is about what God has done – He loved us by sending His only, unique Son, Jesus Christ to save sinners (Jn 3:16). This salvation is accomplished by the Trinitarian God – the Father sent the Son to save, the Son voluntarily went to save, and the Spirit applies this salvation to the heart of the believer. The good news is of a great exchange that takes place between Christ and the person who trusts in Him – our sin exchanged for Christ’s perfect righteousness (2 Cor 5:21). He is our substitute, our atoning sacrifice, and He becomes our representative before God. This is the resolution of the conflict between God’s justice and His mercy. God is just in punishing sin and the justifier of sinners by taking all of our sin upon himself (Rom 3:26). We receive this great salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone to the glory of God alone (Eph 2:8-9). The final result of this salvation is not only forgiveness of sins, but truly becoming holy ourselves through lifelong growth in sanctification and final glorification when our life’s journey is complete with the best news of all being that we will actually get to be with God forever in the age to come.
(1) Accepted: We are accepted by God not on the basis of our own worthiness but on the basis of Christ’s righteousness and atonement. Our sin deserves the wrath of a holy God. RC Sproul describes sin like this: “Sin is cosmic treason. Sin is treason against a perfectly pure Sovereign. It is an act of supreme ingratitude toward the One to whom we owe everything, to the One who has given us life itself. Have you ever considered the deeper implications of the slightest sin? … What are we saying to our Creator when we disobey Him at the slightest point? We are saying no to the righteousness of God. We are saying, ‘God, Your law is not good. My judgement is better than Yours. Your authority does not apply to me. I am above and beyond Your jurisdiction. I have the right to do what I want to do, not what You command me to do.'” Yet, God has determined that He will not only accept us because of Christ but will adopt us as His children (Eph 1:5), heirs with Christ (Rom 8:17), and Christ is not ashamed to call us brothers (Heb 2:11).
(2) Connected: Because we are accepted and adopted by God through Christ, we are also connected to each other. We are connected by loving and forgiving one another as Christ loved and forgave us (John 13:34, Eph 4:32), by being members of one another as we members of the body of Christ (Rom 12:5, 1 Cor 12:12-27), and by becoming brothers and sisters in God’s family (Gal 6:30). Christianity is not a “do-it-yourself” or a “go-it-alone” religion. It is a relationship with God leading to deep relationship with one another. We are to encourage one another, not forsaking our connection (Heb 10:24-25 ). We are our brother’s keeper, and the end to which we strive is not only to be saved from our sins but to become mature followers of Christ, to be conformed to His image, to become who we were created to be (Rom 8:29, Col 1:28-29). We are called to do this together as Christ’s Church, to be presented to Him as a radiant bride in the age to come (Eph 5:25-27)
(3) Sent: We are given a mission and a ministry in the world. Scripture says of the Church, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Pet 2:9) It also says that we are given a ministry to the world of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18-20) Jesus Himself gives the Church its mission and its means to accomplish it through His Spirit in us: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:18-20) Our Mission is to love our neighbor, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with them as it has been given to us.

Our Mission is to know Him and make Him known. We strive to accomplish this for God’s glory by proclaiming His Word, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ at its center, and to live in the light of the Gospel.
